Childhood asthma drug linked to dozens of suicides and frightening hallucinations of 'red-eyed demons' is STILL being prescribed to 12m Americans each year - despite FDA warning in 2020
Parents are not being warned about the dangers of an asthma drug linked to dozens of suicides, hallucinations and self-harm, doctors and patients say.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) added a black box warning to the label of Singulair, generic name montelukast, in March 2020 following decades of reports of mental health problems among users.
The black box warning was primarily for doctors prescribing the drug who are supposed to relay it to patients. But nearly two years later, data shows prescriptions of the drug have barely changed — with 12 million written in 2022, including nearly 1.6 million for children.
Campaigners warn the drug may be behind an un-recognized 'mental health crisis', with patients previously saying it left them seeing red-eyed demons, melting walls and hearing voices.
Alert! Pharmacies are yanking cold medicines from shelves!

Well It's about time!
In the following article from the Sun Sentinel we learn that the FDA is getting ready to pull a major cold and flu drug from the market due to ineffectiveness. In this article we find that there is evidence of the ineffectiveness of these products for almost 20 years now!
Let's read some excerpts from an article from Cindy Krischer Goodman, South Florida Sun Sentinel posted on Sat, November 16, 2024 4 am:
"The Food and Drug Administration has proposed ending the use of oral phenylephrine, a common ingredient found in many cold and allergy medicines — and some pharmacies already are yanking the popular products off shelves."
Florida researchers have been studying the effectiveness of oral phenylephrine for two decades. As far back as 2005, researchers at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy had suspected that this ingredient doesn’t relieve nasal congestion, even though it has been widely used for that purpose. The researchers evaluated multiple studies done on oral phenylephrine and combined them into a meta-analysis. They concluded that medications with the ingredient work no better than placebo pills in patients with cold and allergy congestion.
“For 20 years, we have been telling everyone who will listen that oral phenylephrine doesn’t work,” said Dr. Randy Hatton, a University of Florida College of Pharmacy professor. “We have been teaching pharmacy students that it doesn’t work. We hear from pharmacists who know it doesn’t work. And we actually did something about it.”
Hatton and UF professor, Dr. Leslie Hendeles, took their findings to the FDA, more than once. Finally, in September 2023, the federal agency convened a committee and issued a proposed order.
“They looked at all the evidence we looked at and did an in-depth evaluation of what we had been looking at for years,” Hatton said.

I am glad to see they are finally admitting that these drugs have been fraudulently sold to the American (and world) public for over 20 years despite actual scientific proof they are completely ineffective!
Here is something shown to be effective for sinus congestion, COVID, cold and flu: V-Shield Nasal Defense alkaline oil
Truly, it is only when people die, or they are shamed into admitting the truth that these things come out.
I truly pray that the next incoming head of the FDA will start dis-approving drugs rather than approving them.... There are literally thousands of these drugs that should be removed from the schedule of "approved drugs" including the one in this article from the Daily Mail UK:
